Best Practice for Taking an Exam Using Examplify

Before You Begin

You'll need:

  • An internet connection
  • The device that you'll use to take your assessments
    • To ensure that your device meets the minimum requirements, please refer to this article.
    • If you will be taking an exam with this device today, ensure that your device is connected to power or has a fully charged battery.
      Note:
      You cannot download assessments on multiple devices. Install Examplify on the device that you'll use to take your assessments.
  • Your AU login credentials (AU student email and password)
  • Make sure that you know the exam password and the date when the exam will be available for downloading. (Check with your instructor or exam manager for these details).
  • To ensure the best results, temporarily disable your anti-virus software before starting the exam.
  • Close all Microsoft programs (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Access, etc).
  • If a Mock Exam is made available to you, take it! You'll get familiar with Examplify and the types of questions that you'll face on the real exam.
  • Check that your computer’s date and time settings are accurate.
  • On-Site Exams:
    • If you are taking an on-site exam, arrive at least 15 minutes early.
    • If it's a bring-your-own-device situation, charge your laptop battery, and bring your power cord.

After Login 

  • If you are prompted to wait before you begin: Be aware that all activity will be logged, and it is important that you meet the requirements for this exam.
    • Follow the instructions from the on-site proctor.
    • When ready, click on Continue. Then select the check box and click on Start Exam

During the Exam

Note:
Examplify saves your work automatically every 60 seconds.

After the Exam

To submit your exam:

  • If you reach the final question and the Next button changes to the Submit button: Click on the Submit button.
  • If you decide to submit the exam before you complete the final question: Near the top right corner of the screen, click on Exam Controls, and then click on Submit Exam.

After you submit your exam

Follow the on-screen instructions. You'll be prompted to confirm the exam upload. Progress messages will appear. Wait for the green confirmation screen, which confirms that your exam has been uploaded successfully.
