Creating Standard assignment with (File Submission):
- Inside the course, enable editing by clicking on the "Edit mode" toggle switch, as illustrated below:
- Under a specific topic, click on the Add an activity or resource button.
- Choose Assignment as an activity type.
- In the General Settings specify the name of the assignment and the description, if needed, and upload any files which will be helpful for the students in the assignment.
- In the Availability section, set the settings as the following:
- Submissions can still be made after the due date, but will be marked as late. To stop submissions entirely after a certain date, you can set a cut-off date, after which no further submissions will be allowed.
- If cut-off date is not set, submissions will always be accepted.
- In the Submission Types, set the settings as the following:
- In the Submission Settings, set the settings as the following:
- Once you complete all settings, click on the Save and return to course button.
Note:
Creating Standard assignment with (Online Text):
For some courses where students might require to upload large files containing multimedia with more than 100MB and as Moodle upload limit is 100MB, Students can be advised to use OneDrive for uploading assignments.
You may have to enable the “Online text box” option in the submission settings while creating the assignment on Moodle to allow students to insert their assignment link:

- Follow step no. 2-6 from the previous section (Creating Standard assignment with file Submission).
