The office of IT provides the following services:

Helpdesk

The Helpdesk provides campus wide technical support. It is available throughout regular business hours (Sunday – Thursday 8:00AM – 4:00PM) and (Friday 8:00AM –12:00PM / 2:00PM - 4:00PM). It deals with users’ problems with technology such as PCs, printers, close circuit TV (CCTV), data show, fax machines and telephones, and also deals with all network issues. The Helpdesk is your first stop for any hardware or software problem. The Helpdesk may be contacted by emailing helpdesk@ajman.ac.ae or by calling 06-7056500, you may also fill this form.

Network (LAN and wireless) and telephone services

The office of IT is responsible for providing a network LAN and telephone connections to each office in AU. There are two types of Network access on campus:

Wired: wired infrastructure offers a fast, reliable and secure connection.

Wireless (WiFi): There are two types of wireless connections:

  • Staff Wireless (AU-STAFF): Secure network connection to all AU Network resources, which you should be connected to.
  • Student/Guest Wireless: Secure network connection isolated from AU Network. This type of wireless provides Internet browsing only.

Email Service

AU provides Office 365 for email services. It can be accessed from any desktop computer, through Outlook Web Access, or Mail software on smartphones. Email is the primary means of communication on campus, noting that many official University communications will be made to students, faculty and staff via email. It is an important method for communication between students and instructors, a convenient organizational tool for groups and departments, and a quick method for sharing ideas and information among colleagues. Email may be accessed off-campus using MS Outlook or through the University website.

Default size of the Mailbox

The default size is 50 GB, this means that the size of the emails in all email folders such as send, receive, and junk is 50 GB however you may archive the old mails to organize your emails and make it easy to access. For details about email archiving, please contact the Helpdesk.

Maximum size of attachment

You may send/receive an email message of up to 20 MB.
