Article Summary

This issue is caused by: the course is a copy of another course, and the instructor has not yet opened the LockDown Browser Dashboard for the copy, or because of entering the exam through the "Upcoming events" section, or because of internet connection, or firewall/anti-virus blocking the access.

To solve this issue, please follow the below steps:

  1. Ask your instructor to open the LockDown Browser Dashboard for the quiz.
  2. Access the quiz from the course itself (using Google Chrome) and do not access the quiz through the “Upcoming Events” section of Moodle.

Your computer or network maybe blocking the access. The best thing to do here is to:

  1. Disable the firewall by clicking on the Windows key, search for Firewall & network protection, click on any active firewalls and turn it off.
  2. Disable the anti-virus by locating its icon in the notification area on the taskbar, right-click the icon and choose the option to disable or exit the program.
  3. The last option you have in this case is to connect to a different internet connection, or connect to the same network using a hard-wired Ethernet connection, or use a different device.

If the error persists, reset your computer's internet options, by following these steps:

  1. Go to control panel and select Network and Internet
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. In the Security tab, ensure that your settings are not higher than Medium
  4. Restart your computer and try to access your exam again.
  5. Ensure that you have the correct time and time zone set for your computer.
