IT Career Day to Prep Students for the Job Market

The College of Information Technology organized on November 20, 2016, a Career Day in collaboration with the Career Counselling Center.

The Career Day kicked off with a welcome address from Dr. Abdul Hak B. Hassan, Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Communication, followed by a speech by Dr. Haroun Alryalat, Dean of the IT college.

The event featured a number of speakers from the IT industry, including Mr. Aon Ali, Workforce Development Lead at Oracle Middle East, whose presentation tackled the Workforce Development Program and Oracle Certification.

Mr. Mohammed Saeed Safrini, Service Delivery Manager at Microsoft Middle East gave the second presentation in which he described the “digital transformation as the next industrial revolution”.

The third session tackled “Business Planning & Development”, and was presented by Mr. Tarik Al Hraki, Business Engagement Manager at Ajman University’s Project Management Office.

The last session was presented by Mr. Wissam Kadi, Director of SAP University Alliances Network. SAP is the world’s leader in enterprise applications for software and software-related services.

At the end of the presentations, the college’s dean and the manager of the Career Counseling Center presented the speakers with thank-you awards.

After a reenergizing lunch break, the graduating students were invited to sit for a session of mock job interviews. The interview panel was designed to simulate the real job interview experience and included, from Ajman University, Mr. Mohammed Ismail, Internship and Career Counseling Manager, Mrs. Inas Abusharkh, IT Manager, Mr. Ahmed Akl, Head of Network Administration, IT Department, Ms. Farah Abdeen, Talent Acquisition Officer at the HR Department, as well as Mr. Aon Ali, from Oracle Middle East.
