Multi-factor Authenticator (MFA)

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an authentication method that provides an additional layer of security when accessing resources such as your AU email account. At AU, Microsoft Authenticator is used to verify your identity when signing in.

MFA enhances AU’s security by requiring an additional verification step beyond your username and password. While usernames and passwords are important, they can be vulnerable to cyberattacks and may be compromised by third parties. Using MFA provides an additional layer of protection and helps safeguard AU accounts and data from cyber threats.

To set up MFA for your AU email, please follow the steps below:

  1. Install the Authenticator App on your smartphone
  2. Set up Multi-Factor Authentication for AU Accounts
  3. Sign in to your AU email address using MFA
