Thank you for your feedback!
- The user account and password are intended for personal use only. Each student is responsible for keeping their username and password confidential. Sharing login credentials or using another person’s username and password is strictly prohibited.
- The user account serves as the authorized login for accessing university computers in labs, as well as various IT systems and services such as Moodle, ORS, SIS Banner, email, and the AU Wi-Fi network.
- The user account remains active as long as the student's enrollment status is active.
- Enforce password history: 5 passwords remembered (Password should be different than last 5 used passwords).
- Minimum password length: Minimum of 10 characters.
- Password must meet complexity requirements: Enabled (Passwords should include a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters).
Note:
The User Account and password for all AU’s systems are the same and remain the same as long as you did not change any of them or you change the network password. You may change the password through AU’s PCs in any computer lab or through Outlook on the web. Once changed, the new password will apply to all your user accounts.
Account lockout policy:
Note:
The account lockout policy disables a user’s account if an incorrect password is entered a specified number of times within a given period. These policy settings help prevent attackers from guessing users' passwords and decrease the likelihood of successful attacks on our network.
- Account lockout duration: 20 minutes. (The account will be locked for 20 minutes after failed login attempts).
- Account lockout threshold: 5 invalid login attempts (Account will be locked after the 5th invalid attempt).
- Reset account lockout counter: After 20 minutes, the count of failed login attempts resets to 0 after 20 minutes of no activity. This means the user can try logging in again without the previous failed attempts affecting them.
- Applied Password Policy on Desktop:
- Enable Password Screen saver option after 20 minutes of the idle session. This option would force the user if he/she did not use the computer for 20 minutes to re-enter the password.
- In case another user comes to use the computer, he/she should click on [Other user] and log in with his/her network account. No need to restart the computer.
- The User Account and password provide access to all official Ajman University systems and services. These include, but are not limited to:
- AU Network Access
- Email and Office 365
- Moodle LMS
- AU Connect
- ORS System
- SIS Banner
- Campus Wi‑Fi
- Wi‑Fi Access:
Students must use their User Account and password to connect to the Wi‑Fi. This service is available throughout all campus buildings, including the male and female hostels.
